NORD/LB financing solar projects in Spain to boost renewable energy.
NORD/LB has committed €110 million to fund three solar PV farms in Aragón, Spain. These projects utilize over 250,000 solar panels and aim to supply clean electricity to around 30,000 households, supporting Spain’s renewable energy goals and reducing carbon emissions.
NORD/LB has recently allocated approximately €110 million in financing for the construction of three solar photovoltaic (PV) farms in Spain, significantly contributing to the country’s renewable energy landscape. Located in the Aragón region, these projects represent a step towards meeting Spain’s ambitious clean energy goals.
The trio of solar farms is currently under construction by Capital Dynamics and will collectively comprise over 250,000 ground-mounted solar panels. Upon completion, these facilities will have the capacity to supply clean electricity to nearly 30,000 households, fulfilling a critical need for sustainable energy.
The individual plants are designed as follows:
This initiative aligns with Spain’s National Integrated Energy and Climate Plan (PNIEC), which aims to achieve 76 GW of installed solar capacity by 2030. With such plans set in motion, these solar PV farms will not only help in expanding renewable energy infrastructure but also play a vital role in reducing carbon emissions across the nation.
The partnership exemplifies a concerted effort to accelerate the transition to clean energy and deliver long-term value to both investors and local communities. Experts in the field highlighted that financing renewable energy projects like these is crucial for achieving Spain’s net-zero targets by 2050.
Legal assistance for this financing was provided by Gomez-Acebo & Pombo Abogados, S.L.P. on behalf of NORD/LB, while Capital Dynamics received advisory support from Watson Farley & Williams Spain, S.L. This collaborative effort underscores the growing momentum behind sustainable energy investments not only in Spain but across Europe.
The financing for these solar PV farms reinforces Spain’s dedication to achieving its long-term clean energy goals. As the country progresses towards a sustainable future, innovations in renewable energy such as these solar projects stand as testaments to the commitment and cooperation among public and private entities in the energy sector.
