NCC AB has announced the securing of a SEK 300 million construction contract from the Swedish Fortifications Agency, marking a significant project in their portfolio. Additionally, they will build a new police station in Örnsköldsvik for Kåpan Fastigheter, valued at SEK 440 million, expected to begin construction immediately. The ongoing initiative also includes a sand recycling plant in Skellefteå, showcasing NCC’s commitment to innovative and sustainable construction solutions. These developments are projected to enhance NCC’s market position and generate economic benefits for the regions involved.
NCC AB has secured a significant SEK 300 million contract from the Swedish Fortifications Agency for a construction project located in northern Sweden. This project is expected to commence immediately and is poised to be recorded in the company’s Infrastructure business area during the second quarter of 2025. The execution of this contract not only has the potential to bolster NCC’s market position but also enhance stakeholder value significantly.
Adding to the company’s positive outlook, the most recent analyst rating on NCC AB stock ($SE:NCC.B) highlights a buy recommendation with a target price of SEK 155.00. In 2024, NCC reported impressive sales figures, bringing in approximately SEK 62 billion while providing employment for around 11,800 people. As a leading construction firm in the Nordics, NCC specializes in a variety of sectors including construction project management, infrastructure contracting, production of asphalt and stone materials, and commercial property development. The company currently has its shares listed on Nasdaq Stockholm, boasting a market cap of SEK 15.66 billion with an average trading volume of 287,873 shares.
In addition to the contract with the Swedish Fortifications Agency, NCC has also been commissioned by Kåpan Fastigheter to construct a new police station for the Swedish Police Authority in Örnsköldsvik. This police station project carries a turnkey contract value of approximately SEK 440 million (around $46.76 million) and is anticipated to be completed by 2028. The facility will span approximately 10,000 m² and will encompass a range of modern features including offices, meeting rooms, exercise facilities, a goods reception area, and garage spaces. The location of the new police station will be adjacent to the Paradiset waterpark in the heart of Örnsköldsvik.
The new police station is set to receive a Miljöbyggnad Silver certification, ensuring that the facility meets high environmental performance standards. The order for this project will be recorded in NCC’s Building Sweden business area, with groundwork expected to begin promptly.
Further expanding its portfolio, NCC is also slated to begin the construction of a sand recycling plant in Skellefteå, Sweden. Commissioned by Boliden, this project is projected to kick off in the third quarter of 2025 and is set for completion by 2026. The sand recycling facility will include a recycling building, a silo, and a media bridge, all contributing to sustainable construction practices.
As Kenneth Nilsson, the head of NCC Infrastructure, noted, the new police station project requires the integration of several different areas of expertise within the company. This demonstrates NCC’s capability to handle complex construction processes, reinforcing its position as a leader in the Nordic construction market.
With these contracts put in place, NCC AB is on a promising trajectory in both local and international markets, reinforcing its status as a reliable partner for various construction projects. Stakeholders and investors alike are expected to keep a close eye on these developments, especially as construction activities ramp up.
