Collin College is set to launch a Bachelor of Applied Technology in Software Development at its Frisco Campus in Fall 2025. Collin College has announced that it will begin accepting applications for its new Bachelor of Applied Technology (BAT) in Software Development starting in the fall of 2025. This new degree program will be based at the Frisco Campus of the college and aims to equip students with the essential skills required for exciting careers in the rapidly evolving field of software development.
The BAT in Software Development builds upon the existing Associate of Applied Science degree in Software Development, enhancing students’ foundational knowledge with advanced coursework. The program places significant emphasis on hands-on experience and techniques employed in real-world software development environments. With a curriculum that includes Agile teamwork and the use of various collaborative tools, students will cultivate a skill set that is highly relevant in today’s job market.
Students enrolled in the BAT program will learn the latest modern programming frameworks and develop crucial project management and team collaboration capabilities. This approach prepares graduates for both technical challenges and leadership roles in software development.
The introduction of the BAT in Software Development marks the fifth baccalaureate degree that Collin College offers, reflecting the institution’s commitment to providing diverse educational pathways. This recent program received its final approval from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) on April 4, 2025, paving the way for its launch.
