Autodesk University will host a multi-day Expo in Nashville that focuses on construction workflows, digital delivery and integration of emerging tools. The program highlights Autodesk Construction Cloud use cases, BIM‑to‑GIS workflows, geotechnical integrations, data migration strategies, automation and data-driven reporting with Power BI. Attendees can explore hands‑on AutoCAD labs, case studies on megaprojects and practical sessions on standards, 4D/5D/6D workflows and data residency. A free Digital Pass provides remote access to selected live keynotes and programming, while in-person attendees can network with partners, solution providers and technology vendors showcasing real project results and repeatable workflows.
The Autodesk user conference focused on construction will take place in Music City, Nashville, from September 16–18, 2025. The three-day Expo will center on construction technology and partnerships, bringing hundreds of solution providers and product integration partners together in one place. Registration is currently open on the official event site, and a free Digital Pass option will allow remote attendees to watch live keynotes, featured programming, and other digital-only content.
The AU 2025 program includes sessions that walk through real-world projects and technical workflows. Attendees can expect classes that cover data migration, automation, BIM-to-GIS workflows, geotechnical data integration, and turning construction cloud data into actionable dashboards.
One highlighted session covers the Terminal 2 Baggage Programme at Heathrow, a large replacement project for an aging baggage system. The work is being delivered in five phases across 21 grouped construction projects. A key challenge was managing design risks across many organizations and suppliers while the airport stayed in live operation. Before adopting a digital platform, teams used manual Excel sheets that caused duplication and loss of a single source of truth. After evaluating data environments, the programme selected Autodesk Construction Cloud to manage design risk information, add dashboard monitoring and reporting, and integrate augmented reality for live inspections. Implementation required customization and iterative feedback.
A session from a strategic partner will introduce the GeoDin Ground app for Civil 3D. The app brings geotechnical data directly into Civil 3D so designers and civil engineers can better visualize what lies beneath the surface. Demonstrations will include importing geotech data, visualizing boreholes, creating surfaces and volumes, running analyses between layers, and producing volume reports. The goal is to give attendees practical steps for using ground data in design workflows.
Denver International Airport will present a long-term modernization story that extended BIM into GIS. Teams built an 18-million-square-foot ArcGIS Indoors database from detailed Revit models, spatially enabling more than 7,000 rooms and linking them to asset and facilities identifiers. The session traces ten years of work, discusses breakthroughs connecting Revit and ArcGIS workflows, and outlines plans to push data back into Revit to enable a bidirectional BIM–GIS environment for wider use across airport teams.
Another technical class will show how to extract admin, RFI, submittal, issue, and daily log data from Autodesk Construction Cloud into Power BI and Insight Builder. The session covers use of a Data Connector, dashboard visualizations, and DAX techniques to track project health indicators such as RFI cost and schedule impact, percent complete by division for submittals, root-cause categories for issues, and work-hours over time. A side-by-side comparison of Power BI and Insight Builder dashboards will illustrate their complementary strengths.
A session on megaproject data migration will detail a year-long move from BIM 360 to Autodesk Construction Cloud and a later transition from a U.S. data center to an EU data center to meet residency rules. Speakers will walk through migration strategies, technical and logistical hurdles, and the use of Autodesk Construction Cloud Connect to automate much of the process.
A related automation session will highlight the Autodesk Construction Cloud Connect integration with an automation platform using a metro extension project as an example. Custom automations handled batch file renaming, metadata-driven file moves across complex folder trees, and a SharePoint connection to streamline deliverable control. The example reported estimated time savings that exceed 5,000 hours per year.
A presentation on mega-project digital delivery will outline standardized project environments, information exchange frameworks, and multidisciplinary coordination workflows. It will show how a suite of tools — including cloud construction platforms, validation tools, data exchange services and automation connectors — supports coordination for QA, 4D construction sequencing, 5D costing, and carbon analytics.
Another session examines a strategic alliance connecting GIS and design tools and will preview a new Forma extension for ArcGIS. The session will show how GIS layers — flood risk, green infrastructure, demographics, zoning — can be used with real-time massing and simulation to support planning decisions that balance ecology, equity, and economy.
The AutoCAD product team and multiple presenters will run sessions across the conference on product roadmaps, modernizing .NET projects, drafting workflows, standards management, AI features, and practical hands-on labs. A selection of scheduled sessions includes labs and demos aimed at CAD managers, MEP content editors, and users looking to automate and clean up drawing sets.
AU coverage is grouped with wider industry events. A traveling oddities festival will stop at the Nashville Fairgrounds on June 14, 2025, and visit Louisville and Indianapolis later in the year. A trade summit for custom-channel retailers will run March 22–26, 2025 at a major Nashville convention resort, introducing a format that welcomes all membership tiers and includes one-on-one vendor meetings, educational sessions, and an expo floor. The summit will also add a new service partner that provides plug-and-play warranty and shipping insurance programs to retailers.
Several hunting and outdoor events are scheduled in early 2025: a large international hunting show in late January in Nashville, the Wild Sheep Foundation convention in Reno in mid‑January, a Western Hunt Expo in Salt Lake City in February, the Dixie Deer Classic in Raleigh at the end of February, and a Mile High Hunt and Fish Expo in Denver in April. These events include auctions, seminars, prize drawings that often require in-person claim, youth programs, and hands-on experiences for attendees.
